Biography of Chief Apostle Antoine D. Gaines

On July 5, 1985, Apostle Antoine D. Gaines, a native of Baltimore born to his mother and father, Mrs. Frances A. Greene and Mr. Quinton D. Gaines at Harbor Hospital in Cherry hill, Maryland. Apostle Gaines was an uniquely different child who was destined for purpose.

At the age of 8 he was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of his sins, and at the age of 10 he was filled with the precious Gift of the Holy Ghost At Nazarene Temple Apostolic Faith Church under the Leadership of Bishop Richard Harris, Sr. As a child Apostle Gaines began singing in school choirs and sung on the church choir.

Even as a child God had HIS hand on him, he began to notice how different he was from other children. Apostle Gaines’s press and love for God started with his grandparents teaching him the Word of God through family prayers and Bible Studies at home. From a child on up to his age now God has blessed him to attend schools in the Baltimore city public school system. At the age of 12 Apostle Gaines noticed the Voice of God and began to speak prophetically without notice. At the age of 16 he was appointed as the praise and worship leader and Adjutant to the Apostle at Restoration Life Ministries under the Great Leadership of Apostle Nathaniel McNeil.

While at Restoration he learned a lot of different things about the Word of God and he began to understand more. At the Age of 17 he heard God calling him to the ministry to preach and to speak prophetically as God’s mouthpiece. He began preaching at age 17 at the Nazarene Temple Apostolic Faith Church under the Great Leadership of District Elder Allan M. Fleet, Sr. He definitely has a testimony that God can deliver anyone because there’s no mountain to high and no valley to low that God cant reach.

On October 30, 2005 Apostle Gaines was affirmed as a Prophet. Apostle Gaines is blessed to have three children, Se’nora J.L. Pete, Semone Michelle Gaines, and Serenity Zyona Gaines.

In month of August in 2007, Apostle Gaines hears the call from God to Pastor God’s people.

Apostle Gaines has served in many capacities in his life such as Youth Choir Director, Northern High School Choir President, Youth Minister, Altar Call Worker, Adjutant to the Apostle, Praise and Worship Leader, Prayer Warrior, Master of Ceremony, Assistant Pastor, 1st Associate Pastor, and Chaplain for Called 2 Worship Music Ministry.

Apostle Antoine D. Gaines stands firm as Senior Pastor Visionary of C.G.P. Ministries(Chosen for A Greater Purpose Ministries) now called Jehovah-Jireh Covenant Ministries located in Baltimore, Maryland and his vision is for God’s people to be delivered and set free, for the backsliders to come back to Christ, for God's people to be Healed In Jesus Name. On Sunday, March 16, 2008 Apostle Antoine D. Gaines was consecrated and installed as Bishop in the Maryland jurisdiction as the 1st Assistant Presiding Prelate.

In the month of October 2008, after careful consideration Apostle Antoine Gaines was installed as the National 1st Administrator and the Eastern Jurisdictional Presiding Prelate of the Eastern States and Maryland Jurisdiction. In the month of May 2009 Apostle Gaines was given a dream and a vision telling him to preach and teach the Word of God to the nations, by linking up with ministry minded people who just want to do the Will of God.

Out of the belly of Apostle Antoine D. Gaines,Greater Purpose International Covenant Fellowship, Inc was birthed, which is a International Fellowship of churches all over the world preaching and teaching the Word of God to the Nations.Apostle Antoine D.Gaines stands firm now as Chief Apostle & Visionary of Greater Purpose International Covenant Fellowship, Senior Pastor of Chosen For A Greater Purpose Ministries now called Jehovah-Jireh Covenant Ministries in Baltimore,MD, El-Shaddai Covenant Ministries in Philadelphia, Pa, C.G.P. Yahweh - the God of the Israelites, his name being revealed to Moses as four Hebrew consonants (YHWH) called the tetragrammaton. After the Exile (6th century BC), and especially from the 3rd century BC on, Jews ceased to use the name Yahweh for two reasons. As Judaism became a universal religion through its proselytizing in the Greco-Roman world, the more common noun Elohim, meaning “god,” tended to replace Yahweh to demonstrate the universal sovereignty of Israel's God Yahweh over all others. At the same time, the divine name Yahweh was increasingly regarded as too sacred to be uttered; it was thus replaced vocally in the synagogue ritual by the (Jews) Hebrew word Adonai (“My Lord”), which was translated as Kyrios (“Lord”) in the Septuagint, the Greek version of the Old Testament.

The Masoretes, who from about the 6th to the 10th century worked to reproduce the original text of the Hebrew Bible, replaced the vowels of the name (YHWH) Yahweh with the vowel signs of the Hebrew words Adonai or Elohim. Thus, the artificial name Jehovah (YeHoWaH) came into being. Although Christian scholars after the Renaissance and Reformation periods used the term Jehovah for YHWH, in the 19th and 20th centuries biblicalscholars again began to use the form Yahweh. Early Christian writers, such as Clement of Alexandria in the 2nd century, had used a form like Yahweh, and this pronunciation of the (Tetragrammaton) was never really lost. Other Greek transcriptions also indicated that YHWH should be pronounced Yahweh.

The meaning of the personal name of the Israelite God has been variously interpreted. Many scholars believe that the most proper meaning may be “He Brings Into Existence Whatever Exists” (Yahweh-Asher-Yahweh). In I Samuel, God is known by the name Yahweh Teva-?ot, or “He Brings the Hosts Into Existence,” the hosts possibly referring to the heavenly court or to Israel. The personal name of God probably was known long before the time of Moses. The name of Moses' mother was Jochebed (Yokheved), a word based on the name Yahweh. Thus, the tribe of Levi, to which Moses belonged, probably knew the name Yahweh, which originally may have been (in its short form Yo, Yah, or Yahu) a religious invocation of no precise meaning evoked by the mysterious and awesome splendour of the manifestation of the holy.
